As a family-owned company which operates internationally, STIHL takes a holistic approach to meeting its sustainability responsibilities. That applies in the areas of environmental protection, the circular economy, and our duty of care.
Environmental protection
Nature is our working environment – we are committed to achieving a high level of environmental protection and resource efficiency. We strive for continuous improvement in our processes as well as our products. This means that wherever possible we protect natural resources, reduce long-term energy consumption, and use energy sparingly. Our goal is to make our operations climate-neutral and sustainable.
Circular economy
As part of tried-and-trusted STIHL quality, we offer our customers a comprehensive product portfolio of petrol-driven, electric and battery power tools in which sustainability considerations are incorporated right from the initial product idea. STIHL products have always been characterized by exceptionally long service life, repairability and high quality – all features that mean they help to protect resources and prevent waste.

STIHL has joined the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest initiative for sustainable and responsible corporate governance. By participating we commit to aligning our corporate strategy with the ten sustainability principles of the UN Global Compact on human rights, labor standards, the environment and anti-corruption.
